By registering for the event you agree to accept the general Terms and Conditions for any Roots of Progress Institute (RPI) event outlined below:

GENERAL WAIVER:

Waiver of liability: I agree to release from liability and waive my right to sue the Roots of Progress Institute (and, if applicable, any listed co-hosts or partnership organizations), their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, the event planners, facilitators, volunteers, venue host, and property owners (collectively, the “released parties”) from any claim, loss, liability, damage or cost to persons or property arising from my attendance or participation at any event that RPI plans, whether cause by the negligence or the released parties or otherwise.

COVID:

RPI will not be held responsible if you expose yourself to, and/or increase your risk of contracting / spreading Covid 19, by attending any event that RPI throws. WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against RPI (and, if applicable, any listed co-hosts or partnership organizations), and their respective owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection and/or spread of Covid-19 related to my attending an event planned by RPI. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property loss, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims or negligence and given up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foresee or unforeseen.

PHOTOGRAPHS & VIDEO:

I hereby grant permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media taken at any event planned by RPI, in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. I understand that all Photos will become the property of RPI and will not be returned to me. I hereby irrevocably authorize RPI to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these Photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the Photos.

Participants may not record video of any of the speaker sessions of the event; recording rights for sessions are explicitly reserved for RPI and contractors authorized by RPI.

Participants are, however, encouraged to take photos at the event and share them in their social channels. However, if your photos show others, make sure you don’t photograph or share photographs of anyone with a “no photo” sticker on their badge. (Said sticker may be requested from the organizer in writing ahead of the conference by anyone who doesn’t want their photo taken.)

CODE OF CONDUCT:

SHARING EVENT INSIGHTS: Unless otherwise stated, participants are free to use the information received in writing and on social media. For any sessions that are recorded, participants may attribute the information shared in the main speech only to the speaker(s); any discussions, whether after the recorded session, in unconference sessions, or casually at the event are “off the record.” If you plan to write about the event and attribute any information received or mention another attendee or participant, you agree to obtain their approval in advance.

ANTI-HARASSMENT & NO SOLICITATION. RPI has a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive or harassing behavior and does not tolerate harassment of anyone associated with the conference in any form. This policy applies to all conference-related events, including, but not limited to, talks, workshops, meetings, meals and social events.

All participants are expected to abide by this anti-harassment/acceptable behavior policy. Anyone found to have violated these rules may be removed from the conference (without a refund where applicable) and sanctioned (i.e., prohibited from attending future conferences, etc.) at the discretion of the organizers.

Furthermore, these events are “no solicitation zones.” Unless specifically invited/authorized to do so, conference participants and attendees may not approach other guests for funding, employment or any other type of solicitation.

MISCELLANEOUS:

To enable participants to connect with each other, RPI will list your name and any additional directory-relevant information you provide in the event online participant list or directory. You may opt out of being listed by contacting RPI via email.

All conference attendees will be required to acknowledge all policies and protocols before the event.

RPI reserves the right to refuse registration to anyone.
